The purpose of a weekday preschool
program is twofold: to prepare your child for
a more formal education and to teach them to live
with themselves in their surroundings in an acceptable
manner. We hope to achieve this by guiding each
child through many experiences. We will provide
a caring, Christian, positive atmosphere, creating
a warm and trusting place outside the home. We
provide manipulatives and other materials to help
the child increase in language, gross and fine
motor development, and problem solving. Through
interaction with adults and other children, the
child will begin to discover their place in God's
world. Our program includes independent and group
play, art, Bible devotion, music, prayer, movement,
stories, and finger plays. Our program is designed
to make the first time away from home fun and
enriching. Our goals for each child are:
• |
positive introduction to the
classroom setting |
• |
positive self-concept and a feeling of personal
worth |
• |
working and playing happily with others
in a group |
| • |
to help each child master the concepts
of God’s plan for each of us in our
relation to our surroundings |
• |
understanding of God’s love |
• |
to create within each child a respect for
others and self |
• |
to aid each child in their natural curiosity |
• |
to teach each child to care for personal
needs |
| • |
readiness experience that will foster growth
physically, spiritually, socially, emotionally,
and intellectually |
